In the future we are always looking back in time...
‘Steps to time traveling’ is an intervention in Chisenhale Works, London. The staircase takes you through a journey to the future, travelling throughtout the inner and outer part of the building, reminding us of Chisenhale’s past as a factory and a brewery.
As you travel to the future, you will need to make more physical and mental effort, as you will experience the height. Once you have reached the highest point and decide to go to back to the past, layers and layers of heavy past will destabilize you and force you to disengage with your autopilot, so that you can sense the thick steps of the past.
