The ‘Sorting Pavilion’ is an insertion that reuses the Former Courtyard of Lowestoft Post Office as a strategy that goes hand in hand with the regeneration of Lowestoft. The narrative of the space revolves around the previous use of the site, ‘Sorting’. However, it also analyzes the movement pattern that people follow once they go past the former courtyard.
The insertion consist on a metal mesh sorting structure that guides people to the exit of the room. At the same time, it provides a postcard time capsule from Lowestoft which allows them to stay longer and connect with the past of the building.
